Situated near the busy I-70 / I-465 interchange, The Macomb Group’s Indianapolis Branch encompasses a wide service area and a convenient location for the region’s mechanical and PVF contractors.
“That’s a big plus for us as well as our customers,” says Branch Manager Rodney Richardson, who oversees a 40,000 square foot warehouse and its more than $1 million of inventory. Adding, “We are also in close proximity to our 100,000sq/ft Cincinnati branch for any immediate inventory needs along with a 71,000 sq/ft location in Jeffersonville, IN.”
The Indianapolis Branch serves customers as far north as Fort Wayne and as far west as Terre Haute and Champaign, IL.
Bret Govert, Macomb’s Regional Sales Manager for North Central Indiana, notes that the branch also collaborates with Macomb’s Jeffersonville, IN., branch to facilitate deliveries to customers in the Bloomington and Bedford vicinities.
“The trade unions estimate there’s about $40 billion worth of new construction ongoing and extending over the next year or two,” says Govert. “Though a lot of that material has already been purchased, the opportunity for new orders is out there.”
Despite some competition in the region, strong growth in new businesses continues to enable the Macomb service team to demonstrate its capabilities in terms of pricing and delivery.
“We believe that in the areas of price, delivery, and service, we excel at all three,” says Govert.
Both Govert and Richardson noted that the Indy Branch continues to build its sales and service team, with plans to add several more PVF and mechanical product experts over the next several months to support its contractor customer base further. “Within the I-465 radius alone, there are at least 30 mechanical contracting companies, not counting independent contractors or plumbing contractors,” adds Richardson.
